Spirituality amidst the nature of the Park. At 1100 meters above sea level stands the sacred Hermitage of Camaldoli, a place of art and faith. On the southern side of Mount Penna, instead, stands the sanctuary of La Verna, the most famous of the convents of the Casentino and one of the most significant places for its connection with Saint Francis of Assisi. Casentino is a hive of characteristic villages rich in history and tradition. Poppi, with its dominant castle, is the most famous village in the valley, but don't forget to also visit the historic centers of Stia, Bibbiena, and Raggiolo. Not far away, with a day trip you can also visit Anghiari and Cortona.
From Casentino you can reach the city of Arezzo in half an hour, famous for the antiques fair held on the first weekend of every month. We also recommend visiting Florence, Siena, Lucca, and Pisa.
Don't forget to visit the many churches and castles. Poppi, with its location, dominates the valley and has been awarded the title of "One of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy." Not far from Casa Zeli, the medieval castle of Strada, Porciano Castle, and the Romanesque church of Porrena are worth a visit.
